An Egyptian man, identified as Mohammed Saleh, 56, tragically died after suddenly slumping during dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel in Abuja’s Wuse Zone 4 on Friday night.

Eyewitnesses say Saleh was dining with three companions when he collapsed unexpectedly. The incident reportedly occurred around 9:20 p.m.

The hotel’s Security Supervisor, Francis Yusuf, acted quickly by reporting the emergency to the Wuse Division Police at about 9:24 p.m., prompting a swift response from security personnel.

Sources at the scene said that Saleh was immediately taken to Kings Care Hospital, also located in Wuse Zone 4, for emergency medical attention. However, his condition worsened, and he was subsequently referred to Wuse District Hospital.

At Wuse District Hospital, doctors confirmed Saleh had died. His body was deposited at the hospital morgue, where an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.

In recent years, there have been several cases of unexplained deaths in hotels across Nigeria, often linked to health issues or natural causes. The ongoing probe into Saleh’s death is expected to clarify if this was a natural death or if other factors were involved.

As the investigation continues, the autopsy results will play a crucial role in determining the cause of Saleh’s death. Police have also appealed to any witnesses or guests present during the incident to come forward with information.

The Nigerian Police have reassured the public and foreigners in the country that safety and justice remain top priorities in such sensitive cases.
