The General Overseer of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Onitsha, Prophet Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as *Odumeje*, has once again grabbed national attention with a bold and mysterious declaration.
During a recent church service, the flamboyant preacher told his congregation that when he dies, nobody will see his body because he will “fly away.”
“I’m the strongest spiritual man in the world after the general, Emmanuel TB Joshua,” Odumeje declared. “We are not many, just two. One has finished his assignment and has returned home. Remaining is the Lion Himself, the dead man. I don’t have much time to spend here. Nobody will see my corpse.”
The self-styled prophet explained that his life’s mission is not to live long but to fulfil a divine assignment given to him by God. He said his ministry was founded to erase doubts about the power and truth of Jesus Christ.
“Our mission is to clear your doubt about Jesus Christ,” he said. “Our mission is one God and one power, and that man is Jesus Christ.”
Odumeje is not new to controversy. Known for his energetic preaching style and theatrical performances during deliverance services, he has built a strong following, especially on social media, where his catchphrases like “liquid metal,” “the war,” and “Indaboski Bahose” have become popular memes and slogans.
His church in Onitsha often attracts crowds eager to witness his dramatic style of ministry, which includes intense prayers, physical gestures, and bold prophecies. While many of his followers see him as a true prophet with spiritual power, others believe he is simply an entertainer who mixes religion with showmanship.
Over the years, Odumeje has been the subject of several viral videos and online debates. From being lifted and thrown onto congregants during deliverance sessions to making unusual statements about his spiritual powers, he has continued to divide public opinion.
In his latest message, Odumeje placed himself in the same spiritual category as the late Prophet TB Joshua, founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), who died in June 2021. He described TB Joshua as “the general” who has completed his mission and returned to heaven.
Many Nigerians remember TB Joshua as a powerful and controversial prophet who commanded a global following. Odumeje’s claim that they were the only two with such unique spiritual assignments has raised eyebrows, especially among religious observers.
Odumeje’s declaration has triggered a wave of reactions across social media platforms. While some of his supporters believe he is speaking metaphorically about leaving the world in a supernatural way, others have called his statement “attention-seeking” and questioned its biblical basis.
A Facebook user commented, “Only God knows the truth. But I believe Odumeje is trying to pass a message about spiritual transition.” Another said, “Why is everything always dramatic with him? Even his death must trend?”
