Super Eagles Goalkeeper Denies Using Charms, Says Wife’s Claims Are Malicious

The marriage of Super Eagles goalkeeper, Olorunleke Ojo, has taken a public and troubling turn as his wife, Tosin Ojo, has accused him and his alleged side chick, Precious Daniels, of endangering her life and that of their two children.

In a series of emotional posts on Facebook, Tosin alleged that her husband, who currently plays for Sudanese club Al-Merrikh SC, has not only abandoned his marital responsibilities but has also, with the help of another woman, allegedly turned to charms to harm her and their children.

She claimed the situation has reached a dangerous level, and warned the public, her family, and friends to hold Ojo and Precious responsible if anything happens to her or the children.

“If anything happens to me or my children, please hold my husband, Olorunleke Ojo, and his side chick, Precious Daniels, responsible,” she wrote. “My life and that of my children is now in their hands. I’ve been through a lot lately. My tears will fight you, Leke, if anything happens to me and my children.”

Tosin further appealed to her husband to allow her and the children to live in peace, stating that she was not trying to stop him from being with his lover.

“I’m not stopping you from following Precious Daniels, but please free me and my children in peace. If you succeed in killing me, at least you will rest, but my spirit will haunt you.”

In response, Ojo took to his own Facebook page on Wednesday to firmly deny the allegations. He described his wife’s claims as “grave, false, and malicious,” accusing her of damaging his name, career, and mental health.

Ojo, who was Nigeria’s third-choice goalkeeper at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, said that although their marriage had long-standing issues, he consistently sought reconciliation.

“The truth is that the problems in our marriage began long before now,” he wrote. “Despite this, I supported her in every way — financially, emotionally, and morally.”

He stated that he had been paying his wife a monthly upkeep of ₦250,000, alongside covering rent, school fees, and medical bills. He also claimed to have paid her a monthly salary and helped with her business.

“I even advised her to take a break from work for her own safety and that of our children. I invited her several times to spend time with me while I was away, but she declined, yet travelled to other states for work and personal matters,” he added.

Ojo said it was “completely unfounded” to suggest he used charms or intended to harm his wife and children. “These accusations are not only damaging but dangerous. They expose me to ridicule and public hostility,” he wrote.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper also condemned the trend of resolving domestic disputes on social media, urging Tosin to approach the courts if she had genuine grievances.

“If my wife has any complaint, social media is not a court of law. She can take up her claims before a competent court with proof,” he wrote. “Public drama and falsehoods only destroy the future of the children and further damage whatever peace remains.”

He described the social media posts as defamatory and harmful, not just to him but to their children.

Ojo ended his statement by calling for calm and asking the public to stop spreading unverified claims. “I am a father, a son, and a human being. I have done my best to act responsibly,” he said.

Olorunleke and Tosin got married in 2016 and have two children together. Once seen as a model family in Nigerian football circles, the couple’s crisis has now become the subject of national discussion.

While some Nigerians have sympathised with Tosin over her emotional distress, others have called for restraint and urged both parties to resolve the matter privately and legally, rather than through social media outbursts.
