The Principal Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Youth and Media Mobilization, Mr. Atu Terver, popularly known as Krayzeetee, has been kidnapped by unidentified persons.
News of his abduction broke late Tuesday, following a social media post by his wife, who raised the alarm after receiving a disturbing phone call from her husband.
In the emotional post, she revealed that Terver managed to make a quick call before his phone line went dead. He reportedly said, in a frightened voice, “I have been abducted, call mummy.”
All efforts to reach his phone after the call failed, raising fears about his safety and whereabouts.
As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from the Benue State Government or the police regarding the incident. The identity of the kidnappers, their motive, and the location of the abduction remain unknown.
Atu Terver is known for his active presence on social media and his role in mobilizing youth support for Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration. His abduction has sparked concern among political observers, media personalities, and supporters across the state.
The incident comes just weeks after Terver sacked one of his aides who reportedly participated in a protest against killings in Benue State. That decision attracted both criticism and support on social media.
Benue State, like many parts of Nigeria, has been facing rising insecurity in recent years, including kidnappings, banditry, and attacks by armed herdsmen. The state has also witnessed several protests over the ongoing killings in rural communities.
Residents and supporters of Mr. Terver are calling on the government and security agencies to act swiftly and ensure his safe return.
Meanwhile, fears are growing among government officials and political aides, as the wave of insecurity continues to hit closer to home.
As of Wednesday morning, no ransom demand has been made public, and no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction.
The Benue State Police Command is yet to release a formal update on the case.
