Popular Nigerian businessman and socialite, Obinna Iyiegbu, widely known as Obi Cubana, has celebrated Ekuma Jeremiah, a former Lagos traffic hawker, for successfully graduating with a law degree from Ebonyi State University.

Jeremiah gained national attention in 2022 when he was captured on video giving money to inmates in a Nigerian Correctional Service vehicle in Ajah, Lagos. The selfless act quickly went viral, earning him praise and offers of support from across the country.

Among those moved by the video was Obi Cubana, who offered Jeremiah financial support and several promising opportunities. However, in a surprising move, Jeremiah turned down the offers, choosing instead to focus on completing his university education.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Obi Cubana shared the good news of Jeremiah’s graduation, describing his journey as “inspiring” and “a symbol of hope.”

“On January 19, 2022, when opportunities were placed before you, you chose education! You made the best choice. Today, you are a 2025 law graduate,” Obi Cubana wrote.
