Popular Nigerian music star, Adekunle Gold, has been honoured with a street named after him in Lagos, marking a proud moment in his life and career.

The 38-year-old singer, born Adekunle Kosoko, shared a touching video on Instagram showing the unveiling of “Adekunle Kosoko Street”. The event, held in Lagos Island, was attended by his wife, fellow artist Simi, and their daughter Deja.

In the video, the family was seen smiling as they jointly unveiled the new street sign. An emotional Adekunle Gold wrote:

“Adekunle Kosoko Street. The city that raised me now carries my name. Thank you, Lord, for my many blessings.”

The street naming is not just a personal honour for the singer but also reflects his strong historical roots. Adekunle Gold is a descendant of Oba Kosoko, the former king of Lagos who ruled from 1845 to 1851. His royal lineage connects him deeply to the city’s cultural and historical legacy.
