I’m Ready for Court Battle, Says Adeyanju After Obi’s Lawsuit

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has filed a lawsuit against political activist and social commentator, Deji Adeyanju, over allegations of defamation.

Adeyanju made this known on Wednesday via his social media platforms, where he confirmed that Obi has officially taken legal action against him.

“Finally, Peter Obi has sued me,” Adeyanju wrote.

“I am actually happy and relieved that he didn’t chicken out in the end.”

He also revealed that the case was filed in Anambra State, despite Obi reportedly spending much of his time in Abuja, where Adeyanju resides.

“Interestingly, he dragged me all the way to Anambra State… But no shaking, we move,” he added.

Adeyanju stated that he is prepared to defend himself in court and claimed he would prove that Peter Obi is corrupt, a bigot, and a fraud — accusations he has previously made on public platforms.

“I will prove in court that Peter Obi is corrupt, a bigot, and a fraud. You will all be entertained, I promise,” he said.

Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State and a prominent 2023 presidential contender, has faced various public criticisms but has mostly avoided public legal battles over personal attacks. This move marks one of the few times he is taking a legal route to defend his reputation.

More updates are expected as the case progresses.
