Arsenal Stand Out, Chelsea Can Still Challenge – Redknapp

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Jamie Redknapp, has described Arsenal as the only outstanding team in the Premier League this season but believes Chelsea still have the chance to finish strongly.

Speaking after last weekend’s fixtures, Redknapp praised Arsenal’s consistency and quality, noting their 2-0 win over Burnley had moved them six points clear at the top of the league table. “Arsenal are head and shoulders above the rest,” he said.

Despite Arsenal’s dominance, Redknapp pointed out that the league remains open for other teams to challenge. Chelsea, who defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, have shown signs of flair and confidence, according to the former England midfielder.

“When I look at Chelsea, there’s excitement and flair. It was just too easy for them against Tottenham. They have confidence, and there is excitement about watching Chelsea,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

Redknapp also highlighted the inconsistency of other top teams, including Manchester City and Liverpool, which he says has created an opportunity for Chelsea to make a significant impact in the league.

Liverpool have recently returned to form with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, moving them back to third place, while Manchester City, after a 3-1 win over Bournemouth, remain second, six points behind Arsenal.

Chelsea’s recent form gives fans hope that the Blues could disrupt the traditional top order. With midweek Champions League fixtures coming up, Chelsea will visit Qarabag, while Tottenham will host Copenhagen, adding more tests for both teams.

Redknapp concluded that while Arsenal remain clearly the best team, the battle for the other top positions in the league is wide open. “If we analyse the Premier League this year, there is just one outstanding side. The rest are struggling. That is why it is up for grabs for Chelsea this season,” he said.
