SSA Dismisses Reports of Tinubu Meeting US VP

    Share

Contrary to reports circulating online, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not scheduled to visit the United States on Tuesday, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Tope Ajayi, has clarified.

Ajayi addressed claims made by Sahara Reporters that the President was planning to meet US Vice President J.D. Vance. He described the report as “fake news” and warned that it had already sparked “uninformed commentaries.”

“There is a Sahara Reporters story that President Tinubu is going to the US on Tuesday to see US Vice President J.D. Vance. That story is not true,” Ajayi said. “If President Tinubu is going to the White House, he won’t be going to see a Vice President.”

The clarification comes amid heightened interest in President Tinubu’s foreign engagements, with social media and news outlets closely following developments. Ajayi’s statement emphasizes that any official visit by the Nigerian President would be properly communicated through official channels.

Sahara Reporters, a popular news platform, had earlier suggested that Tinubu’s visit would focus on strengthening diplomatic ties and discussing economic cooperation with the United States. However, Ajayi’s rebuttal highlights that the report was inaccurate and misleading.
