“I’ve Committed No Offence,” Natasha Cries Out Over Withheld Passport

Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has alleged that her international passport has been withheld, preventing her from travelling abroad.

The lawmaker made the claim during a live broadcast on her Facebook page on Tuesday morning, expressing frustration over what she described as repeated attempts to restrict her movement.

“Having completed the celebration of my second year, I decided to take a week off, and my passport is being withheld again. The same thing happened before,” Senator Natasha said.

She insisted that she has not committed any offence that could justify the seizure of her passport, adding that there was no court order authorising such an action.

“I have committed no offense, and there is no order from the court to seize my passport and deny me travelling,” she stated.

The senator further alleged that the directive to withhold her passport came from Senate President Godswill Akpabio. “The last time it happened, the officer in charge told us that the Senate President Godswill Akpabio instructed them to withhold my passport and prevent me from travelling,” she claimed.

Her remarks have stirred reactions online, with many Nigerians calling for clarification from the National Assembly leadership.

Senator Natasha, who represents the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has had a tense relationship with some members of the ruling party in recent months. Earlier this year, she was suspended from the Senate for six months before being reinstated in September.

As of press time, neither the office of the Senate President nor the Nigerian Immigration Service had responded to her latest allegations.
