Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has accepted the public apology offered by Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation Bible Ministry, bringing a major controversy between the two to a calm end.

Ogala made this known on Sunday through a post on her Facebook page shortly after a video surfaced showing Pastor Chris kneeling before members of his church and asking for forgiveness. The actress said the apology was all she wanted and urged the cleric not to kneel again.

“Pastor Chris please don’t kneel. This was all I wanted. Apology accepted,” Ogala wrote.

Her statement came hours after she shared the video of the pastor’s emotional apology, which quickly spread across social media and attracted strong public reactions. The video showed Pastor Chris kneeling before his congregation during a church service, admitting that he had made mistakes in the past and asking for forgiveness from those he may have offended.

The apology followed allegations earlier made by Doris Ogala, who accused the pastor of ending a relationship with her after promising marriage and choosing another woman instead. Her claims, which she shared publicly, sparked heated debate online and placed the pastor under intense public scrutiny.

In the video, Pastor Chris did not directly argue with the actress but said he was not interested in trading words or fighting publicly. He admitted that errors had been made while also insisting that many of the accusations against him were false.

“I am not joining issues,” he said, referring to Doris Ogala. “Mistakes have been made in the past, and I tender my apology to everybody. But everything that was said is not true. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said.”

Despite disputing parts of the allegations, the cleric said he was willing to make peace and correct any wrongs he may have caused. He extended his apology beyond Ogala to other women who might have felt hurt by his actions.

“To Doris Ogala, I will apologize, and I also apologize to everyone,” Pastor Chris said. “I am ready to make a restitution to anyone and anybody, any lady, anywhere I’ve offended.”

In a further show of humility, the pastor knelt down before his church members and appealed for forgiveness and prayers.

“I’m kneeling down before everyone and before the church. Forgive me. You can judge me. Pray for me,” he added.

The video and apology triggered mixed reactions among Nigerians. Some praised Pastor Chris for showing humility and taking responsibility, while others questioned why the issue had reached the public in the first place. Many social media users also welcomed Doris Ogala’s decision to accept the apology, saying it would help reduce tension and end public drama.

Doris Ogala, is a known Nollywood actress who has featured in several Nigerian films. Her decision to openly share her experience drew both support and criticism. While some people praised her courage to speak out, others felt the issue should have been handled privately.

The acceptance of the apology appears to have eased tensions, with many Nigerians expressing hope that both parties can move on peacefully. Ogala’s short but clear message suggested that she was more interested in an apology than prolonged public arguments.

The incident has once again raised broader discussions about personal conduct, accountability, and forgiveness, especially involving public figures. In Nigeria, religious leaders are often expected to meet high moral standards, and any allegation involving them usually attracts strong reactions.
