Soludo, Emeka Offor Meet Tinubu at Aso Villa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday received the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, and businessman Sir Emeka Offor at the State House, Abuja.

The meeting, which took place at the Presidential Villa on February 11, 2026, is seen as part of ongoing consultations between the Federal Government and leaders from different parts of the country.

Although details of the closed-door meeting were not immediately made public, sources at the Presidency said the visit was part of routine engagements aimed at strengthening cooperation between the federal and state governments.

Governor Soludo, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has led Anambra State since March 2022. His administration has focused on infrastructure development, security, digital economy, and reforms in public service. Like many state governors, he has been engaging with the Federal Government on issues affecting his state, including road projects, security challenges, and economic growth.

Anambra State, located in the South-East region, is known for its strong business community and active private sector. However, the state has faced security concerns in recent years, including attacks on government facilities and law enforcement agencies. State governments in the region have often sought federal support to address these challenges.

Sir Emeka Offor, who accompanied Governor Soludo, is a prominent businessman and philanthropist from Anambra State. He is known for his investments in oil and gas, power, and other sectors of the Nigerian economy. Through his foundation, he has also supported education and health programmes in different parts of the country.

President Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023, has repeatedly called for closer cooperation between federal and state governments to address economic and security issues. His administration has introduced economic reforms aimed at stabilising public finances and attracting investment. These reforms have sparked debate across the country, with state governments playing key roles in implementation.

Meetings such as this are common at the Presidential Villa, where governors, traditional rulers, business leaders, and other stakeholders regularly meet with the President to discuss matters of national importance.

In recent months, several governors have visited the President to seek support for infrastructure projects, security operations, and federal interventions in their states. Analysts say such visits help strengthen ties and ensure that state concerns are presented directly to the Federal Government.

While the specific agenda of Wednesday’s meeting was not disclosed, it is believed that discussions may have touched on development projects in Anambra State and broader national issues.

The visit reflects ongoing efforts to maintain dialogue between the Presidency and leaders from across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. As the country continues to navigate economic reforms and security challenges, cooperation at all levels of government remains crucial.
