The development was announced on Sunday in a statement by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at FAAN, Henry Agbebire.

According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended after security personnel received information that suspicious individuals had been seen near the airport perimeter.

A joint search operation was launched involving FAAN’s aviation security personnel and other security forces operating in the state.

The agencies involved included the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Police Force.

Local security groups in the community also assisted in the operation.

According to FAAN, the quick response by the security teams led to the successful arrest of four suspected bandits.

Officials said the operation was carefully coordinated among the various security agencies to prevent any threat to the airport and nearby communities.

Security personnel conducted a thorough search around the airport environment before the suspects were eventually apprehended.

While FAAN did not provide details about the identities of the suspects, authorities described them as individuals suspected to be involved in criminal activities.

Investigations are expected to continue as security agencies try to determine the reason the suspects were in the area.

The airport authority noted that the swift response demonstrated the effectiveness of cooperation among security agencies responsible for protecting critical infrastructure.
