Political Vampires: PDP Accuses APC of Looting Treasury, Misleading Nigerians

    Share

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has launched a fierce attack on the All Progressives Congress (APC), calling the ruling party “political vampires” who revel in the suffering of Nigerians.

The PDP accused the APC of causing “excruciating pain and hardship” across the nation with policies that have led to economic struggles, high inflation, and widespread unemployment.

According to the PDP, the APC is filled with “power-grabbers and treasury looters” who manipulate the system only to benefit themselves at the expense of Nigerian citizens.

This strong statement was issued by PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, who described the APC’s recent criticism of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as “reckless, insensitive, and arrogant.”

Governor Makinde, a key PDP leader, has been outspoken about the impact of APC’s policies on the Nigerian public.

The PDP argued that the APC’s response to Makinde’s criticism is a clear sign that the ruling party is “jittery” and aware that “its days are numbered” in power.

“Governor Makinde has stood as a credible and effective leader, delivering outstanding performance in Oyo State,” the PDP stated.

The opposition party praised Makinde’s numerous development projects, which it claimed are improving the lives of the people in his state.

PDP leaders believe that, in stark contrast to Makinde’s efforts, the APC’s policies have led to severe hardships for the average Nigerian.

The PDP pointed to several troubling statistics to support its claims.

They highlighted that the exchange rate of the naira has plunged from N168 to almost N2,000 per dollar under the APC.

Additionally, petrol prices have skyrocketed from N87 per liter during the PDP’s time in office to over N1,500 per liter in various regions.

The PDP also pointed to the staggering increase in food prices, noting that a bag of rice now sells for over N100,000, compared to N8,000 during their administration.

“It is an assault on Nigerians’ sensibility for the APC to claim that the country is ‘on the cusp of prosperity’ while millions of Nigerians are struggling with hunger and despair,” Ologunagba said.

The opposition party criticized the APC’s “alternate reality,” arguing that the ruling party is ignoring the true state of the nation.

According to the PDP, the APC has reversed all of the economic progress achieved during the PDP’s 16 years in power, reducing Nigeria to “the poverty capital of the world.”

“More than 100 million Nigerians can no longer afford their daily meals and basic necessities,” the PDP claimed.

The PDP also accused APC leaders of engaging in large-scale corruption, claiming that they are “looting the nation’s treasury to fund their luxurious lifestyles.”

The party expressed concern that as the 2027 election approaches, the APC is engaging in “data manipulation and personal attacks” on prominent figures like Governor Makinde.

Such actions, the PDP warned, will not prevent Nigerians from voting out the APC in the next election.

The PDP praised its governors for “delivering on their mandates,” contrasting their leadership with what they describe as “failed APC-controlled states.”

In PDP-controlled states, the opposition party says there is “astounding infrastructure, human capital, and citizen empowerment projects,” which they believe demonstrate their commitment to the people.

According to the PDP, these states serve as “oases of development” compared to APC states that are allegedly plagued with stagnation and underdevelopment.

The PDP demanded that the APC “accept its failure and come to terms” with the reality that Nigerians are no longer willing to tolerate the suffering inflicted by its policies.

The opposition party also warned that Nigerians would send the APC “to political oblivion” come February 2027, describing the ruling party’s governance as an “abysmal failure.”
