President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is determined to change Nigeria’s fortunes and lead the nation toward a brighter future.

This declaration was made by Vice President Kashim Shettima during a one-day retreat for presidential aides and heads of units in his office, held on Saturday in Abuja.

Shettima highlighted the challenges facing the country but expressed optimism about the trajectory of Nigeria’s economy under Tinubu’s leadership.

“President Tinubu is determined to change the fortunes of the nation,” Shettima stated.

He emphasized the importance of leaving a legacy for future generations.

Nigeria’s Economy on the Rise

Shettima acknowledged the economic struggles that Nigeria has faced but assured Nigerians that positive changes are underway.

“The economy has and is experiencing challenges, but we have turned the corner,” he said.

According to the Vice President, Nigeria is now producing 1.8 million barrels of oil daily.

He expressed confidence that the economy would experience significant growth in the coming year.

“The economy is on an upward trajectory, and I believe in the new year, the economy will grow in leaps and bounds,” Shettima affirmed.

A Call for Unity and Teamwork

Addressing the retreat participants, Shettima urged presidential aides to work in harmony and prioritize national interests above personal ambitions.

“The country is greater than all of us. I urge you, let’s work as a team and as a family,” he said.

Retreat Aimed at Enhancing Coordination

Senator Hassan Hadejia, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President (Office of the Vice President), shed light on the purpose of the retreat.

He explained that the event was designed to promote synergy among aides and ensure smooth execution of tasks assigned to the Vice President’s office.

“The retreat is meant to enhance strategic communication, streamline project funding, and improve partnerships,” Hadejia said.

He also stressed the importance of cooperation between the Vice President’s office and various ministries, departments, and agencies.

Aides Urged to Focus on Delivering Results

Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, praised the efforts of the Vice President’s aides.

He called for improved collaboration across the presidency to achieve greater efficiency.

“We need better synergy to tackle the enormous challenges facing the country,” Baba-Ahmed said.

Similarly, Dr. Aliyu Moddibo-Umar, Special Adviser to the President on General Duties, urged aides to channel their expertise toward achieving national goals.

“Be humble and focus on the tasks at hand. The primary thing is just the work,” Moddibo-Umar said.
