    Eight Teenagers Arrested for Gang Rape in Ogun State

    Eight teenage boys have been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun State for allegedly gang-raping a 14-year-old girl.

    The incident occurred in Ijebu-Mushin, Ijebu East Local Government Area of the state on November 15, 2024. The suspects, who are students of St. Anthony Grammar School, Esure, allegedly took turns sexually assaulting the victim and recorded the act.

    The victim reported the incident to the NSCDC after enduring repeated abuse and threats from the suspects. The victim stated that the suspects threatened to release the explicit video online if she did not comply with their demands.

    Following the report, the NSCDC arrested two suspects initially and, through further investigation, apprehended the remaining six. The victim underwent a medical examination at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital.

    The suspects were arraigned in court and remanded for 60 days. The case has been adjourned to January 20, 2025, pending legal advice from the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP).
