In a groundbreaking move to preserve and showcase the cultural heritage of Ekiti State, Governor Biodun Oyebanji has thrown his weight behind the production of a film chronicling the legendary Ekiti Parapo War. The ambitious project aims to spotlight the heroic resistance of the Ekiti people in their historic battle against oppression, bringing their rich history to a global audience.

During a meeting in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, Governor Oyebanji announced a strategic collaboration between the State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy and AL Notions Film Company, owned by renowned Nollywood actors Lateef and Adebimpe Adedimeji.

“We are committed to telling our stories with the dignity and excellence they deserve,” Governor Oyebanji said. “This film will not only celebrate the bravery of our ancestors but also put Ekiti on the map as a hub for creative excellence and historical preservation.”

The project will be led by the Adedimejis, who have gained national acclaim for their performances and production expertise, including their work on the epic movie Lisabi. For Adebimpe Adedimeji, a native of Ijero-Ekiti, the film is deeply personal.
