In the Niger Delta region, the Rivers State Government has donated an Agusta Westland (AW) 139 helicopter to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). The donation, which took place on March 5, 2025, at the NAF Base in Port Harcourt, is part of efforts to enhance the operational capacity of the Air Force in combating security challenges, including illegal oil bunkering and the protection of critical national assets.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State officiated at the handover ceremony and highlighted that this donation aligns with his administration’s commitment to supporting federal security initiatives and protecting national interests in the Niger Delta.
