An aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has fired back at Lagos-based activist lawyer, Dele Farotimi, over harsh comments directed at the former Rivers State governor.
Lere Olayinka, who serves as Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, took to social media to mock Farotimi, describing him as a “human rice and beans activist” who has lost his “sense of rational reasoning.”
Olayinka’s outburst came after Farotimi took to X (formerly Twitter) to label Wike as “cacophonous, parasitic, narcissistic, gluttonous, and myopic,” among other criticisms, while reacting to the ongoing political rift between Wike and his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi.
In response, Olayinka defended Wike’s record, especially his role in establishing a law school campus, contrasting it with Amaechi’s alleged failure to build any schools during his tenure as governor.
He wrote: “When, as a lawyer and human rice and beans activist like @DeleFarotimi, you have lost your sense of rational reasoning, you’ll support a man who built no single school in 8 years, but attack another who built a law school.”
The spat highlights the growing tension between supporters of both political figures as the fallout between Wike and Amaechi continues to draw public attention.
