Davide Ancelotti, son of legendary football coach Carlo Ancelotti, has been appointed the new manager of Brazilian club Botafogo. This marks his first role as a head coach after years of working alongside his father at top clubs, including Real Madrid.
Davide departed Real Madrid at the end of the 2024/2025 season following his father’s appointment as head coach of the Brazilian national team. Botafogo, one of Brazil’s most historic clubs, has now handed him his first solo job, signaling a new chapter in his coaching career.
Famous football journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the appointment, noting that Davide was previously in talks with Scottish side Rangers before settling for the opportunity in Brazil.
Meanwhile, Italian club Napoli has turned down a €60 million bid from Turkish champions Galatasaray for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
Reports indicate that Galatasaray has already agreed on personal terms with the Super Eagles forward and plans to return with an improved offer.
Osimhen, 25, has been a key player for Napoli and remains one of the most sought-after African strikers in Europe.
