The National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, has said Nigeria is steadily winning the fight against insecurity, thanks to the efforts of the military and other security agencies.
Ribadu made this known on Tuesday at the inauguration of the Joint Doctrine and Welfare Centre, established by the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
He noted that the country’s security situation has greatly improved since President Bola Tinubu came into office two years ago. According to Ribadu, Nigeria has faced major threats that could have destabilised the nation, but the country has remained strong and united.
“The armed forces are successfully defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity, democracy, and law and order,” Ribadu said. “Terrorists and insurgents are being defeated, which shows real progress in securing the country.”
Ribadu, who was the pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), added that many reforms have taken place under the current administration, fixing long-standing issues.
He pointed out that places like Kaduna and Lokoja, once considered dangerous, are now safer, and Nigerians can move around more freely.
“This shows the government’s success in improving safety and the quality of life for citizens,” he said.
