The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed that 33 huts and three houses were destroyed in a violent communal clash in Lamurde Local Government Area of the state.

The conflict reportedly broke out between members of the Chobo and Bachama communities over a long-standing land dispute. What began as a disagreement quickly escalated into violence, resulting in widespread destruction.

In a statement released on Wednesday morning, the police said normalcy had been restored to the area, though the physical damage remains.

“A total of 33 round huts and three flat houses were discovered burnt,” the command stated. The update was signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
