Spanish striker Alvaro Morata’s expected move from Galatasaray to Italian club Como is currently on hold as the Turkish champions wait to finalise a deal for Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Galatasaray is unwilling to let Morata leave until a suitable replacement is signed, and Osimhen is their top target. The club wants to secure the Napoli striker before releasing Morata, whose departure has already been agreed in principle.
Romano revealed this development via his X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday night. He stated:
“Álvaro Morata will become new Como player… as soon as Victor Osimhen re-joins Galatasaray. The condition for Gala to break Morata loan deal and send him back to Italy is new striker to join. And Osimhen is currently one step away from Gala return.”
Osimhen previously played for Galatasaray before moving to Napoli, where he became one of Serie A’s most feared attackers. A return to Istanbul would be a major boost for Galatasaray as they prepare for the new season.
Meanwhile, Como, recently promoted to Serie A, is keen to add Morata to their squad and is reportedly waiting patiently for the deal to be completed.
The situation highlights the domino effect often seen in transfer markets, where one player’s move is dependent on another’s arrival.
