Suspected bandits have attacked a church in Yaribori community, Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing a pastor and a church member, and kidnapping a woman.
The attack occurred on Monday night at Bege Baptist Church. The victims were identified as **Reverend Emmanuel Na’allah and Mallam Samaila Gidan Taro.
According to a local source, the gunmen stormed the church in the night, opened fire on the victims, and escaped with a female worshipper whose identity has not yet been revealed.
“Yesterday night, bandits attacked Bege Baptist Church in Yaribori community, Kafur LGA, Katsina State. They killed the church pastor, Rev. Emmanuel Na’allah and a member, Mallam Samaila Gidan Taro, and abducted a woman during the attack,” the source said.
As of press time, security agencies and government officials have not released an official statement on the incident.
Katsina State has been one of the northern states frequently hit by armed bandit attacks in recent years, with rural communities often targeted for kidnappings and killings. Residents have continued to call for improved security and urgent government intervention.
