A brand-new healthcare centre named after Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been officially commissioned in Lagos State.

The Senator Oluremi Tinubu Ikosi Primary Healthcare Centre was unveiled on Tuesday, July 9, 2025, by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, who represented the First Lady at the event.
The project was delivered by the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, as part of efforts to improve access to quality healthcare at the grassroots level.
Speaking at the commissioning, representatives praised the project as a timely response to the healthcare needs of residents in the area. The new facility is expected to provide essential medical services to thousands of people living in Ikosi-Isheri and surrounding communities.
Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the LCDA leadership for prioritising health, while Hajia Nana Shettima conveyed the First Lady’s commitment to promoting women and family health through improved healthcare delivery.
The centre is part of a broader push by the Tinubu administration to strengthen primary healthcare across Nigeria, particularly in underserved areas.
