Popular Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has received a Silver Certification in the United Kingdom for his hit album Timeless.
The award was announced by Chart Data, a top music analytics and certification platform, which confirmed that the album sold over 100,000 units in the UK — meeting the requirement for the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) Silver Certification.
Timeless, which was released in March 2023, shattered multiple streaming records across platforms including Spotify Nigeria, Boomplay, Audiomack, and YouTube. It also received wide international praise and helped solidify Davido’s status as a global Afrobeat ambassador.
The album earned Davido two Grammy nominations — one for Best Global Album and another for Best Global Music Performance. It also bagged a Headies nomination for Song of the Year.
Following the album’s success, Davido went on a global “Timeless Tour,” performing in major cities around the world and drawing large crowds.
This UK Silver Certification marks yet another milestone in Davido’s illustrious music career.
