Katsina United have kicked off a seven-day screening exercise to discover new football talent ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The screening started on Thursday at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina, with 41 players turning up on the first day. The club’s technical department is supervising the exercise.
Some of the selected players will be placed in different categories such as the Junior Team, U-20, and U-23 squads, based on their age and performance.
This move is part of Katsina United’s plan to rebuild the team after a tough season where they narrowly avoided relegation, finishing 15th on the league table.
The club has also resumed training with retained players from last season and is hoping to boost its squad with fresh talent for a better outing in the new season.
