Prime Suspect in AAUA Students’ Kidnap and Murder Dies in Police Custody

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of Oladele Femi, the main suspect in the shocking kidnap and killing of two students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA). Femi, who was popularly known as “Tallex”, died while in police custody after falling seriously ill.

The police spokesperson, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, saying, “Yes, he is dead. He had been under medical supervision since his arrest and had been in and out of the hospital. He passed away yesterday.”

Femi was the landlord of one of the victims, John Abba. According to police reports, he had earlier confessed to planning the abduction and murder of Abba and his female friend, Eloho Okah, who both went missing on June 20, 2025.

Eloho’s decomposing body was recently found, while John Abba’s remains have not yet been located. Police say the search is still ongoing.

The case drew more attention after two other suspects, Kola and Michael, were arrested for withdrawing N800,000 from John Abba’s bank account while the victims were still missing. A Lexus RX 350 SUV belonging to Abba was also recovered from one of them.
