Spanish striker Álvaro Morata is set to leave Turkish club Galatasaray after the club finalized a deal to sign Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
According to top football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Morata had been waiting for over a month to complete a move to Italian side Como, but the transfer was delayed as Galatasaray worked to secure Osimhen’s signature.
“Morata has been waiting for Como for one month… and now, all set,” Romano wrote on social media platform X.
Morata and Como have already reached an agreement on personal terms. His move to Serie A marks a return to Italian football, where he previously played for clubs like AC Milan and Juventus.
Galatasaray, the current Turkish champions, finalized the details of Osimhen’s permanent transfer over the weekend. The Super Eagles striker had been a top target for the club as they look to boost their attack for the new season.
Morata’s exit now clears the way for Osimhen to lead Galatasaray’s frontline, as the team prepares for both domestic and European campaigns.
