    Army Arrests 183 Suspected Yahoo Boys in Delta

    Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested 183 suspected internet fraudsters, commonly known as “Yahoo Boys”, during a raid in Warri, Delta State.

    The operation was carried out by the 63 Brigade, Nigerian Army / Sector 1 Joint Task Force (South South), Operation Delta Safe, on July 19, 2025, following a tip-off about suspicious activities in the area.

    According to a statement by Captain Iliyasu Bawa Rijau, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, the suspects aged between 16 and 29, were picked up from several apartments reportedly used as training centres for online fraud.

    Items recovered during the operation include 274 assorted laptops, 87 mobile phones, nine laptop chargers, one table phone, and two WiFi devices.

    The suspects are currently undergoing preliminary investigation as the army continues efforts to tackle cybercrime and other security threats in the region.
