Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, held a private meeting on Thursday morning with two governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governors — Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State — visited Wike in Abuja. The details of their discussion were not made public.
The meeting was confirmed by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, who posted a photo of the visit on Facebook with a short caption: “Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Francis Nwifuru, during their visit to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja a few minutes ago.”
This latest visit adds to growing political activity around the FCT Minister. Just a few weeks ago, Wike hosted Julius Abure, the factional National Chairman of the Labour Party, at his residence in Abuja.
Abure later told the media the visit was private, saying he had the right to meet any public office holder.
Though no official statement has been released about the purpose of these meetings, the visits have sparked speculation about possible political alliances ahead of 2027. Wike, a former governor of Rivers State and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been known for his close ties with both APC and opposition leaders in recent times.
