Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has predicted a strong win for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, saying the president has already secured dominance in the southern region and will only need a small number of votes from the North to win again.
Fayose made this statement during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.
He also gave a bold prediction about the order in which political parties will finish in the 2027 presidential race. According to him, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will come first, while the Labour Party’s Peter Obi will take second place. He believes the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will finish third, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will drop to fourth.
Fayose said, “Tinubu, outside the government, built the APC and used it to defeat the PDP in 2015. In 2023, he defeated all opposition. You may not like his style, but the man is a strategist.”
He added, “Tinubu has taken all over the South. He only needs little from the North to win. Obi will still put up a good fight, better than PDP. Write it down—PDP will come fourth.”
Fayose also expressed concern over the current state of the PDP, saying the party has been weakened by internal problems and major defections.
“I said before that the PDP was becoming a carcass. Look at how many big names have left the party since then. Managing the PDP has become a serious problem. Pretenders may say otherwise, but the truth is, the party has messed up,” he said.
Fayose’s comments come at a time when political alignments and party structures are already taking shape ahead of the 2027 elections.
