Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in a social media post that has stirred political debate.
Olayinka mocked Atiku on Saturday, claiming that while the former PDP presidential candidate is busy with “katakata and kitikiti” politics, his own state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, was in Port Harcourt dancing with Wike.
The comment came after the University of Port Harcourt awarded Wike an Honorary Doctor of Science degree. After the ceremony, Wike was seen dancing joyfully with Fintiri and other associates.
Posting a video clip from the event on his Facebook page, Olayinka wrote: “Another Pepper Dem dance from Nyerisi and his friend. While one permanent presidential candidate dey run katakata kitikiti for Kolision, the governor of his state, Ahmadu Fintiri, dey Port Harcourt, dey dance Hip Hop with FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.”
The post, laced with sarcasm, appears to mock Atiku’s continued political aspirations and tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), especially as Wike and Atiku have long been at odds since the party’s 2023 presidential primary fallout.
This development highlights the ongoing cracks in the PDP ahead of the 2027 elections, with Wike and his loyalists continuing to distance themselves from Atiku’s leadership and possible candidacy.
