    ‘They Rose from the Dead’ – NFF Boss Celebrates Falcons’ Grit

    President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, has praised the Super Falcons after their dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Morocco to claim the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.

    The Super Falcons lifted their 10th WAFCON trophy in Rabat on Saturday night after coming back from two goals down to defeat the host nation in a thrilling final.

    Reacting to the victory, Gusau commended the players for their resilience and determination. “I am very happy because our girls rose from the ‘dead’, as they say, and fought to victory. This was an extraordinary performance. I congratulate them for their resilience,” he said.

    Head coach Justine Madugu and his team delivered one of the most memorable performances in the history of Nigerian women’s football, showing strength and unity despite early setbacks in the game.

    As champions, the team also received a cash reward of \$1 million.
