A Nigerian woman has gone viral after revealing how she shockingly discovered her husband had secretly married another woman through Facebook.
In an emotional video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the woman, now a single mother of three based in Abuja, detailed how she found out her husband had married someone else while still living with her under the same roof.
“We had three children together, yet I saw my husband’s wedding photos with another woman on Facebook in 2022. He never told me,” she said tearfully.
She explained that from the start, her husband’s family — particularly his mother — never approved of their relationship because she is from Anambra and her husband is from Enugu. She also claimed her mother-in-law sent her threatening messages, telling her she would die if she didn’t leave her son.
Despite the hostility, the couple got married and started a family. But the relationship remained cold. “We lived in the same house and didn’t speak to each other for a whole year,” she recalled.
The situation worsened when her husband returned from a trip with a young woman. His mother said the girl was just a neighbour’s daughter, but suspicions grew when the same girl started bonding closely with the children and even joined them on a village visit in 2021.
A year later, the truth came out when the wife saw her husband’s wedding pictures with the same girl on Facebook without any explanation or warning.
Now raising her children alone, the woman says the stress has taken a serious toll. “I just turned 40, but I look 65,” she said.
The story has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians calling for stronger protections for women in marriages and condemning the culture of secrecy and emotional abuse in some homes.
