The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced that all telecommunications companies in Nigeria have successfully moved to its upgraded NIN verification platform, known as NINAuth.

The development means that telecom subscribers across the country can now enjoy smooth and uninterrupted services related to their National Identification Number (NIN).

In a statement released on Wednesday, NIMC spokesperson Kayode Adegoke said the migration marks a major step in improving data protection and user control over personal identity information.

“By migrating to this new platform, telecom firms can now provide uninterrupted verification services to their subscribers,” the statement read.

NIMC urged NIN holders who face any challenges with SIM registration, SIM swap, SIM migration, or “Welcome Back” services to contact their telecom operators for quick resolution.

The commission explained that the NINAuth platform not only protects users’ data but also allows easier verification and secure access to digital services.

“This achievement is a result of NIMC’s efforts to give Nigerians more control over their NIN data while ensuring a secure and smooth verification process,” the agency added.

The National Identification Number (NIN) has become a key requirement for telecom services in Nigeria, following government policies linking SIM registration to national security. Over the past few years, NIMC has been upgrading its systems to ensure better integration, service delivery, and data privacy. The launch of the NINAuth platform is part of these ongoing reforms.
