Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), days after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Melaye announced his defection in a video shared on his X handle on Thursday, where he was seen receiving his ADC membership card from party leaders in Kogi State.

The card was presented to him at his office by the ADC State Leader, Kingsley Temitope, alongside the party’s state secretary, local government and ward officials.

Dressed in ADC-branded clothing, Temitope described Melaye as a committed member who has already started contributing to the party.

“I present to Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye the membership card of the African Democratic Congress. He is a full member and has started contributing to the party even before we officially handed him the card,” Temitope said.

In response, Melaye simply wrote: “SDM fully ADC.”

Melaye recently resigned from the PDP, accusing the party of failing to rescue Nigeria from what he described as “prevailing political cankerworms.”

Melaye, known for his outspoken style and dramatic political moves, was the PDP’s 2023 governorship candidate in Kogi State but lost the election. His switch to ADC marks yet another shift in his political journey.
