    Ogun Starts Registration to Disburse N500 Million Grants to Artisans

    The Ogun State Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives has kicked off the registration process for the disbursement of N500 million worth of business and industrial grants to artisans and small-scale business owners across the state.

    Commissioner Ademola Balogun revealed this on Thursday during a session with the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Community Development and Cooperatives held at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

    The announcement came as part of the 2025 mid-year budget performance appraisal. Balogun assured the lawmakers that the disbursement process would be fair, transparent, and inclusive of all eligible beneficiaries.

    The House Committee Chairman emphasized the need to increase funding to empower grassroots economies, boost investments, and support cooperative groups in the state.

    In a related development, the Committee on Youth and Sports, led by Lukman Atobatele, also reviewed the 2025 budget performance of the Ministry of Sports Development.

    Permanent Secretary Lanre Ogunyinka thanked the Assembly members for their support and highlighted key successes, including the successful hosting of the National Sports Festival, ‘2024 Gateway Games.’

    He added that the ministry completed the renovation and upgrade of major sports facilities such as the MKO Abiola Sports Arena and Alake Sports Complex, which now feature Olympic-standard swimming pools and tennis courts, among other improvements.
