The Lagos State Government has declared 176 estate developments illegal for operating without proper layout approvals. The affected estates have been given a 21-day ultimatum to regularise their documents or face sanctions.

This was made known in a statement released by the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Mukaila Sanusi. The statement said the flagged estates are mainly located in Eti-Osa, Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki, and Epe.

According to the Ministry, the list was compiled after a thorough audit of property developments across the state. Some of the estates named include Adron Homes in Elerangbe, Aina Gold Estate in Okun-Folu, Diamond Estate in Eputu, Prime Water View Garden in Ikate-Elegushi, and Royal View Estate in Ikota.

Oluwole Sotire, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of Physical Planning, warned that unapproved estates violate the Lagos State Government’s development goals, particularly its T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda, which focuses on urban planning, housing, and environmental management.

Sotire directed all affected developers and landowners to submit their layout documents to the Ministry at the State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, within 21 days.
