Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is set to join Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas this week in a permanent transfer from English side Leicester City.
Reports say Besiktas have agreed with Leicester City to activate the £9 million release clause in Ndidi’s contract. The move reunites Ndidi with Besiktas coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the former Manchester United manager.
The 29-year-old defensive midfielder is expected to travel to Istanbul soon for his medical and is set to sign a three-year contract, with an option for a one-year extension.
Ndidi joined Leicester City in 2017 and has been a key player in their midfield ever since. The transfer marks a new chapter for the Nigerian star as he moves to one of Turkey’s top clubs.
