Super Falcons Defender Demehin Receives Traditional Title in Ondo

    Share

Super Falcons defender, Oluwatosin Demehin, has been honoured with a traditional chieftaincy title in recognition of her contributions to youth development in Ilaje, Ondo State.

Demehin was given the title “Yeye Akeweje Ilaje” by the Oba of Bariga, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kayode Aiyetiwa.

The 23-year-old football star, who plays for Galatasaray in Turkey, was a key member of the Nigerian women’s national team that won the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) last month. She featured in all six matches played by the Super Falcons during the tournament.

The chieftaincy title is part of a series of recognitions Demehin has received recently. Earlier this week, the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, gifted her N30 million and a house for her achievements and for making the state proud.

Community leaders say Demehin’s success is an inspiration to many young people in Ilaje and across Ondo State.
