Security operatives in Zamfara State have successfully rescued three kidnapped relatives of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Mohammed Abubakar Nakwada.
The victims — Sadiya Nakwada, Aisha Nakwada, and Abubakar Dan Fulani were abducted on July 27, 2025, from their residence in Gusau, the state capital.
Their rescue was carried out through a coordinated operation involving the Zamfara State Police Command’s tactical units and the Force Intelligence Department’s Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS) from Force Headquarters in Abuja.
Police confirmed that five suspects were arrested during the operation. The suspects are Hamza Umar, Abubakar Abdullahi, Aisha Umar, Mohammed Ibrahim, and Igeh Mohammed all residents of the Mareri area in Damba District, Gusau Local Government Area.
Sources revealed that the rescued victims have been taken to a medical facility in Gusau for treatment and will be reunited with their families shortly.
The police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and all those involved in the crime will be brought to justice.
