Police operatives in Delta State have arrested two suspected armed robbers during an early morning raid along Chelsea Street in Ogwashi-Uku. The operation led to the recovery of firearms, ammunition, electronics, and other stolen items.
According to the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the suspects Thywill Selvin (22) and Guntim Bako (32) were arrested around 4:30 a.m. on August 4, 2025, after a distress call alerted the police to a robbery in progress.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ogwashi-Uku, CSP Okoyomon Israel, quickly mobilised the Anti-Crime Squad and local vigilante groups to the scene. Upon sighting the security team, the suspects tried to flee but were caught and arrested.
Items recovered from them include one pump action rifle with a live cartridge, one Beretta pistol with six live rounds, three assault rifle bullets, two motorcycles, 25 mobile phones, four laptops, one tablet, a PS4 game console, a home theatre set, two music players, five bags
