The Nigeria Police Force has extended the enforcement of the tinted glass permit requirement for vehicles until October 2, 2025.

This was announced in a statement on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, following the approval of the new date by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

According to the statement, the extension was necessary due to a recent rise in the number of Nigerians applying for the permit through the official online portal. This shows that many people are now making efforts to comply with the regulation.

The police said the extra time will allow for proper review of all applications and ensure that only eligible individuals receive the permit, especially because of national security concerns.

The Force also stated that the delay would help improve both the digital and physical verification systems used in processing the permits. This is aimed at preventing abuse and ensuring transparency.
