Tambuwal Freed by EFCC Following Brief Detention

    Share

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released Aminu Tambuwal, former Governor of Sokoto State, after holding him for less than 24 hours.

Tambuwal reportedly responded to an EFCC invitation and arrived at the commission’s office at about 11:16 a.m. on Monday. He was later taken into custody but was freed the following day.

As of the time of this report, the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, has not commented on the reasons for Tambuwal’s release or the details of the investigation.

The EFCC often invites public officials and former government officers for questioning in connection with ongoing investigations into alleged financial crimes. However, the brief nature of Tambuwal’s detention has raised questions about the outcome of the inquiry. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
