Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger whose recent arrest and detention stirred nationwide debate, has been offered a fresh start by Ossai Ovie Success, Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.
Ossai took to social media to announce a generous offer of a ₦500,000 monthly salary job, an all-expense paid trip to Delta State, and full hospitality, including a five-star hotel stay, tour, and a special invitation to the Delta Social Media Summit on August 28 in Asaba.
“I’m offering Comfort Emmanson a complimentary trip to Delta State… A job opportunity with a monthly salary of ₦500,000 has been secured for her. All expenses will be fully covered, including hotel accommodation and flight tickets. She deserves a second chance,” Ossai said on his verified social media handle.
Comfort was recently released from Kirikiri Correctional Centre after her controversial incident aboard an Ibom Air flight, which went viral and sparked mixed reactions across the country.
Though the exact details of the altercation remain unclear, her release followed strong public support and criticism of how her case was handled—especially after Fuji star KWAM 1 was pardoned for a similar airport-related issue.
The offer from Ossai has drawn massive attention online, with many Nigerians weighing in on the gesture:
@iam_kaycee: “This is a wonderful gesture. Everyone deserves a second chance. Kudos to Ossai.”
@maryjaywrites: “But what about the thousands of youths who also need jobs? Let’s be fair.”
@tolu4naija: “This is why some people misbehave – they go viral and suddenly become celebrities.”
@ucheoma_ng: “Instead of mocking her, someone chose to uplift her. I love this energy.”
Ossai defended his move, saying society should prioritize rehabilitation and reintegration rather than punishment and stigma, especially for first-time offenders or those caught in controversial situations.
As of now, Comfort Emmanson has not publicly responded to the offer, but Ossai urged anyone in contact with her to ask her to reach out directly.
The story continues to generate conversation on fairness, influence, and social justice in Nigeria.
