Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has received a hero’s welcome at Brighton & Hove Albion following her arrival at the English Women’s Super League club.
The 24-year-old joined Brighton in July on a free transfer after leaving French side Paris FC, but her arrival was delayed due to national team duty with Nigeria at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Nnadozie played a key role in helping the Super Falcons win their 10th WAFCON title, and she was named the tournament’s best goalkeeper for her outstanding performances.
On her first day at the Brighton training ground, the Nigerian shot-stopper was greeted with Nigerian flags, loud applause, and a standing ovation from her new teammates and coaching staff.
She is expected to become Brighton’s first-choice goalkeeper in the upcoming season as the club looks to improve its standing in the English top flight.
Nnadozie is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in African women’s football and was also a standout performer at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Her move to Brighton marks a major step forward in her career.
