President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to serving every Nigerian, stressing that his administration’s development projects are driven by the oath he took to serve the entire country. Speaking through his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the president appealed to Nigerians to place their trust in the government’s efforts to build a united and prosperous nation.
In a message posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Tinubu reminded Nigerians that the oath he swore when taking office guides every infrastructure and social project his administration embarks on. He said this pledge is the foundation for ongoing developments across the country — from roads and railways to health facilities and power projects.
“I took an oath to serve all Nigerians, not a section,” the president said. “That oath guides every bridge, road, rail, power, and health project we deliver.”
Tinubu highlighted some of the key national projects underway under his leadership. These include the Lagos–Calabar Highway in the South, the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway in the North, the Port Harcourt–Maiduguri rail line in the East, and the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano expressway in the Centre. He also mentioned the Trans-Saharan highway, which connects Nigeria to other African countries, describing these efforts as “national assets” rather than local achievements.
In the health sector, President Tinubu said health centres are being renovated across the country to improve access to medical care. The administration has also given the green light to light rail projects in key cities such as Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, and Ogun states, aimed at improving transportation for millions of Nigerians.
On job creation, Tinubu revealed that 250,000 jobs are being generated, a critical boost for the country’s youth and economy. Power supply is also improving, with a revived 255MW power plant restoring electricity to Kaduna state.
Infrastructure projects such as bridges in Onitsha and Bonny are reconnecting communities and easing movement. Oil exploration activities are expanding in Bauchi and Gombe states, while the important Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline has successfully crossed the Niger River, bringing the country closer to boosting its energy capacity.
President Tinubu highlighted that the government’s efforts are aimed at benefiting every Nigerian: “Every farmer who needs a road, every trader who needs power, every child who needs a school, every patient who needs care… this is who we are building for.”
He described this approach as the “equity of Renewed Hope,” assuring citizens that no Nigerian or region would be treated as second class or left behind in the nation’s progress.
“No region is left behind. Together we will rise as one nation, one people, and one destiny,” Tinubu declared.
The president’s message comes amid ongoing debates in Nigeria about equitable development and national unity. Since assuming office, Tinubu has faced the challenge of balancing regional interests while pushing for economic growth and infrastructural development.
His administration’s focus on large-scale projects across different geopolitical zones signals an attempt to bridge longstanding divides and ensure inclusive progress.
With Nigeria facing economic challenges such as unemployment, infrastructure deficits, and power shortages, the president’s call to “bet on Nigeria” is both a reassurance and a rallying cry to citizens to trust in the country’s potential and the government’s commitment to deliver.
