Tinubu’s Aide Threatens Legal Action Against Timi Dakolo

President Bola Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Digital Engagement, Strategy, and New Media, O’tega Ogra, has threatened to take legal action against popular Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, following a social media call-out.

The drama started on Sunday when Timi Dakolo took to his verified X (formerly Twitter) account to accuse Ogra of refusing to pick his calls after allegedly failing to pay him for a job. In a brief but pointed message, Dakolo tagged Ogra and wrote, “Mr @otegaogra please pick your calls. I did my job.”

Although the singer did not disclose the nature of the job or how much was involved, the post went viral and stirred reactions from Nigerians online, with many demanding accountability from the presidential aide.

In response, Ogra took to X on Monday to address the issue. He accused Dakolo of personalising what he described as an “institutional matter” and warned that any further public comments would lead to legal consequences.

“I see and have noted the commentary. I will not engage in explication where none is required. My record is public and stands on its merits,” Ogra posted.

He continued: “Any further attempt to personalise a clearly institutional matter will be met with formal correction and the appropriate professional and legal redress.”

Ogra’s response did not provide details about the job or clarify whether payment was due. He also did not confirm or deny that the job was done under his office or through a government-related platform.

Timi Dakolo, known for his strong vocals and patriotic songs, is also frequently seen performing at high-profile state and official events. His decision to go public with the issue suggests that private efforts to reach a resolution may have failed.
