The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has offered Super Falcons head coach, Justin Madugu, a two-year contract, officially confirming him as the substantive head coach of the women’s national team.

Madugu had been in charge of the team in an interim capacity since the resignation of former coach Randy Waldrum in 2024. Waldrum, an American, stepped down after leading the Falcons to the Round of 16 at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Since taking over, Madugu has impressed football fans and officials alike by guiding the Super Falcons to victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, securing the team’s record-extending 10th title.

The NFF’s offer of a full-time contract comes as the team prepares for their 2026 WAFCON qualifying match against Benin Republic. The first leg of the qualifier is scheduled to take place later this month.

In preparation for the crucial tie, Madugu has named a 21-player squad, including key stars from the team’s recent WAFCON triumph.
